Saturday Morning Cartoons in a Can: Phillips & Whistle Buoy Brew Up a Nostalgic Hazy IPA

We're thrilled to announce our collaboration with Whistle Buoy Brewing Co. on a nostalgic new brew: Saturday Morning Cartoons – Frutlupz Hazy IPA. This unique beer is inspired by the cherished memories of enjoying a bowl of colorful, loopy cereal during Saturday morning cartoons.

As highlighted in a recent Victoria News article, this collaboration brings together two Victoria-based breweries known for their experimental, small-batch beers crafted with quality ingredients. The idea was sparked during discussions between our teams, leading to the incorporation of over a dozen jumbo boxes of the iconic cereal into the brewing process. The cereal was added to the mash and even used in dip-hopping, resulting in a beer that embodies the fruity, citrusy essence of its inspiration.

To enhance the flavor profile, we dry-hopped the brew with a blend of Krush, Motueka, and Citra hops, delivering bold citrus and fruity aromas. The result is a hazy IPA that not only invokes nostalgia but also offers a unique and refreshing taste experience.

Saturday Morning Cartoons – Frutlupz Hazy IPA is now available at Whistle Buoy's location in Market Square, our Phillips Tasting Room at 2000 Government St., and select local liquor stores. We invite you to indulge in this playful fusion of childhood memories and craft beer innovation.
