Electronics Technician – Full-Time

We are on the hunt for an Electronics Technician to help us continue making consistent and delicious craft beer through maintaining, upgrading, and designing Industrial Controls for our automated machinery. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automation for brewing and packaging machinery

• Wire discrete sensors and digital devices to industrial controllers

• Program Industrial controllers to automate machines

• Troubleshoot broken control systems and repair speedily to support production goals

• Configure controllers to read and write to digital sensors via Ethernet/IP, IO Link and MODBUS

• Create HMI screens for production staff to easily operate machines and systems Projects you will manage:

• Automation of machines and overall controls of the Brew House, Malting Plant & Packaging line • Automation of the many in-house designed and built machines created here at Phillips

Skills that we value:

• Experience with PLCs and Industrial Programming

• Skills in electrical trouble shooting and repair

• Understanding of Databases and queries

• Practical Wiring abilities in low and high voltage

• Experience drawing Schematics, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID).

• Knowledge of 3 Phase motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

• Knowledge of Industrial Sensors such as prox sensors, pressure, and temperature sensors

• Basic mechanical skills

• Ability to tie zap straps with one hand

• Any home brewing experience

Preferred Education:

• Diploma or degree in Computer-Science or Automation & Controls

• Training & experience as an Electrical Technician/Technologist/Engineer or experience in a similar role

Packaging Operator – Part-Time/Contract

Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. is on the hunt for someone who is interested in craft beer as a career. If you have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and desire to grow, we want to hear from you! The position offered is a contract, part-time position scheduled for 25-35 hours per week until January 15, with the possibility of an extension.

This is a team environment role with aspects of individual expectations. As part of this team of packaging operators, your day to day will be set at a high pace with attention to detail, safety, and efficiency at the top of your list.

You will be trained in all aspects of the packaging process. Forklift experience is an asset, but not required. Aptitude for understanding and using machinery and tools is an asset.

A clear understanding of English is required for safety and proper training. More Women are needed in the craft beer industry so come on down if this is your shtick!
