March 12th – To celebrate the Canadian National Barista Competition, we have teamed up with our good friends at @phillipsbeer to bring you something special! Coffee and beer always make a great pair. Typically the coffee and beer combinations tend to incorporate darker, maltier beers so we wanted to be more creative with our approach to this collab. We used a kolsch base for this brew since this lighter German style beer is known for its subtle breadiness and fruity esters and thought it’d be an excellent way to showcase the nuances of the single origin coffee we used.

The Burundi Mbirizi Gatara coffee we selected has tasting notes of raspberry, stone fruit/peach notes, orange zest and candied apple which really sparkle when combined with the organic fresh squeezed lemons we added to the cask. All of these flavours finish with a refreshingly bitter citrus bite. We’ll be tapping this extra special collab cask at 5pm tonight in the Phillips Tasting Room. Come through and check out this one-of-a-kind collab brew!
