August was a month of stained hands as volunteers swarmed madrona farm in the blenkensop valley near Victoria to pick and juice the sweetest berries in the land. It was this juice that was to be married with beer to create our september seasonal release, blackberry hefeweizen. The beer was made even sweeter, as the proceeds of the brew went to support the aquisition of the farm, and to help The Land Conservancy and the Friends of Madrona preserve the farm for agricultural use in perpetuity.
