The heatwave might be over, but we're thankfully still in the full summer swing of things here in Victoria. For our latest seasonal release, Phillips is offering Hudson Light, a crisp and clean kolsch, ideal for refreshing yourself after a hard day's ride. The name of the beer honours 'A' Vancouver Island's anchorman Hudson Mack, a staple of the Victoria news community. Full proceeds from the beer are going towards 'A' Vancouver Island's charitable initiatives, one of which is the Tour de Rock, where Hudson will be proudly cycling Vancouver Island starting on September 19 to help raise money for cancer research.


As for you beer buffs scoffing at the thought of Phillips brewing a light beer, Hud Light is only light in colour, a lovely and bubbly straw hue, as 5 percent alcohol is as low as we go here at Phillips.


Hudson Light is a limited-edition beer, available in 650ml bottles at cold beer and wine stores throughout Victoria and here at the brewery. And while we're sort of on the topic of cycling, we've got a spiffy new bicycle rack out front here, so ride on down and leave with a few Hud Lights in your pannier to complete your summer evening.
