Twisted Oak Red Ale

This full-bodied Red Ale is the first seasonal release in our Twisted Oak Stillage Series. Matured in freshly emptied rum barrels, it transformed from a fiery-red to a deep amber colour, with strong malt flavours becoming wrapped in velvety sugarcane sweetness. This beer is the result of two Canadian craft breweries, three provinces apart, coming together in Victoria to combine yeast from Belgium with hops from the Pacific Northwest in a rich black ale. Service 1904 Scotch Ale

The Service 1904 Scottish Stone Fired Ale is a malt-forward, rich ale developed as a special project with Vic Pub Co.; it is exclusively available on tap in three Victoria locations: The Bard & Banker, Irish Times, and Penny Farthing public houses. The brew is done in commemoration of Robert Service, a poet and a writer best known for his poems "The Shooting of Dan McGrew" and "The Cremation of Sam McGee", who spent some of his early years in Victoria working at the Canadian Bank of Commerce--the same building that now houses the Bard & Banker. Occassionally the Service 1904 Scotch Ale is also available in growlers from the brewery! Alcohol 5%

A nine megaton payload of our favourite, righteous hop varieties. Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Citra, Hallertauer, Millenium, Palisade and Simcoe make up the core of this perilous 9% brew. Pity all forces of destruction can't be this delicious. Hold on tight; this may leave some craters in your flavour bunker.

24-Mile Blueberry Pail Ale

Every ingredient used to craft this refreshing beer has travelled 24 miles or less from farm to brew kettle. First, water from the Sooke reservoir is blended with barley, grown and malted locally by Mike Doehnel. Then we added a pile of Cascade hops from Vic Davies Saanich farm and fresh blueberries from Farmer Phil. All this deliciousness was activated by Yeast Wrangler Ben’s unique house-strain of ale yeast and you are off to the flavour races. Springbock

Just because our west coast spring was rather late to arrive this year, that didn't stop us from making this traditional Maibock to celebrate the changing of the season.
